It's undoubtedly ATL unless there is some niche quality of another city that interests you.

Depends on lifestyle and interest, but Nashville does have a lot going for it. The southeast consists of much more though:
Miami
Tampa
Atlanta
Charleston
Asheville
Those, plus Nashville are probably the best.

Anywhere in God's Country (Texas).

A poster named DoTurd pretty arrogantly said Nashville was hands down, far and away the best city in the SE and all other places were basically Memphis-like with crime and violence
Let's set the record straight, you said Bristol was a better city than Nashville in TN, I told you to enjoy Memphis. You made up the rest of it to try to influence the posters, rookie move, but I understand the desperation in your losing cause.

Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Tampa, and Jacksonville are better than Nashville.

Mobile and Nashville are probably the 2 best all-around city in the southeast. I give Nashville the edge though bc I think they probably have the better music scene.

I feel like it comes down to some combination of food and music
Asheville - folk and beer
Atlanta - crunk
Charleston - shrimp & grits
Lexington/Louisville - bourbon
Memphis - blues and pork
Nashville - country and hot chicken
New Orleans - jazz/zydeco and Cajun cuisine
There aren't notable cities in Arkansas or Mississippi, and neither Missouri nor Texas are in the southeast, but St. Louis, Dallas, etc. are decent I guess. Birmingham has an awesome food scene for a city its size. Montgomery, Jackson, Little Rock, etc. are all pretty small without the buzzy food scene Birmingham has. Florida's cities are less enjoyable than its beach towns, maybe with the exception of Miami, which isn't very Southern nor SEC territory, so its kinda hard to gauge, though I guess Orlando is the happiest place on earth
