Go back and break down the rosters and it's not just OU, but that year we had more and better talent than USC as well. Good chance we win that game.
They kicked the shite out of you at your place the previous year. Both teams got better, but the gap got bigger.

You are seriously deluded if you think your roster could match Southern Cal's

Previous years are meaningless and this gets proven countless times every season all over the country. You have no way of measuring any gap either.

All you have to do is take 5 minutes and look at the rosters and it's pretty obvious Auburn was better and had more depth.

Bush was the only USC player from that year that didn't flame out of the NFL in a couple of years.

They basically had no depth behind their starters.

You probably won't recognize more than 1 name from their defense, because it was essentially a bunch of nobodies.

Auburn had the #1 defense in the country that season and as we see time and time again in championships defense beats offense.

They had the edge in coaching, definitely. But as far the actual roster goes, talent and depth wise, Auburn has the clear cut advantage.
I welcome anybody to attempt a legitimate argument otherwise, I could use a good laugh.
