Like I've said over at braves-nation, Simmons is one of two cases in which I deeply doubt he performs as well as he has this year in Atlanta and why I don't have a good feeling about how the MLB club helps young players grow.
The reason he's hitting really well is because the Angels have simply allowed him to be who he is, which is a dead pull hitter. The Braves would've continued tinkering, saying hey, you're probably better going the other way as a hitter and it would have continued to f*ck with his head.
That's not to say he would not be a HUGE upgrade anyway because he would be right now.
