There is like one rule in baseball that applies to every league that uses a pitcher. Never get rid of a lefty who has potential. My blood pressure goes up thinking about Wood. (Twss)

Speaking of lefties, anyone notice the year Mike Minor is having out of the KC bullpen?5-1, 1.87 ERA
Quite the comeback for em.He pretty much missed most of the last 2 years.
Man,we had some horrible luck with pitchers in '13 and '14. Medlen,Beachy and Minor all had shots at very good to great careers.

Something to consider with Wood...
According to fangraphs, his primary pitch was a sinker. His average sinker velocities were as follows:
2013: 92.4
2014: 90.5
2015: 89.7
2016: 91.3
2017: 92.5
It could be that maybe the Braves considered Wood a player who was regressing. Velocity is not the end all/be all for a pitcher, especially a sinker baller, but it could be a partial explanatory factor as to why they traded a young lefty who had put up decent numbers (with one season of really good numbers).
