The East has been a bad division since 2009

And the west has been Bama and everyone else since 2012

Well Auburn won the division, league and went to the national title game in 2013, so, not exactly.

Final AP Rankings
2013 - #2 Auburn, #7 Alabama, #14 LSU, #18 Texas A&M
2014 - #4 Alabama, #11 Mississippi State, #17 Ole Miss, #22 Auburn
2015 - #1 Alabama, #10 Ole Miss, #16 LSU
2016 - #2 Alabama, #13 LSU, #24 Auburn

The west has been pretty mediocre in 2015 & 2016, but it was a pretty good division in 2013 & 2014.

Auburn (twice) and LSU have each won an SEC Championship since the last time an East team won in 2008.
