If Eason was a country boy from Warner Robins, UGA fans would be way more supportive of him.

Maybe some UGA fans think that way, but it's probably not that common. Generally, diehard sports fans (like those who post on message boards) tend toward too much optimism about future results, which means they overestimate the ability of their team, coach, and important players. Those folks are usually complimentary and supportive, regardless of race, creed, religion, or any other demographic variables, and they tend to think that way until results prove them conclusively wrong, and then they begin to change their opinion. I never knew how prevalent fan overconfidence was until I started reading message boards of various football teams.

I'd guess most of Eason's critics on UGA boards fall into two camps. Some are perverse fans of rival schools posing as UGA fans, simply to troll and irritate any UGA fans who see Eason leading us to better outcomes. Others are UGA fans who are skeptical about Eason's talent. It is possible for people to think that without having some bias or ulterior motive, despite your confidence that they're wrong.

I'm not confident that they are wrong. I just don't see how people can reasonably conclude that he sucks and will continue to suck based on his freshman season.

If he sang gay country songs and fished while being from GA, he would get the benefit of doubt, but he isn't, so he doesnt.
