It's easier to win a football championship at Bama. You have a 6 game gauntlet in basketball at the end of a 4+ month season. Additionally, at least 4 of those games will be against good or great competition.

I tend to agree but playing devil's advocate on the flip side you can lose several games during the season (as many as 11 losses has been done - Kansas 1988) and still win a basketball championship. In football you can basically only lose one game tops. A second loss all but ends your chance. I think LSU is the only 2 loss champ in several decades.

As far as gauntlet to the end the season, in the NCAA bball tournament as a higher seed you are probably playing a scrub, an okay team, and then 4 good to great teams (from the Sweet 16 on). In football at least now you basically have 3 good to great teams in the end of season gauntlet (Conference Championship game, Semi-Final, Final).

Still I think I'd give the edge to basketball as being "harder" in the sense that it is more likely to have an off night, run into an "inferior" team that gets hot and knocks you off scenario. I think the "better" team wins a greater percentage of football games than in basketball perhaps.
