I feel like a lot of people don't understand that these highly ranked kids get paid by multiple schools throughout the process. They pick one and nobody can really say anything about it. Everybody has a little skin in the game and everybody has risks associated with it getting exposed. Money from Alabama boosters goes to kids that Bama knows they aren't going to get, every cycle. It's part of playing the game

Ole Miss was found to have football staff directly involved in this process, a big no-no. They were also fixing entrance exam scores, perhaps just as big a no-no. Not to mention, essentially a first time head coach was pulling #1 recruits from multiple states away to a program will little-to-no national standing, that's going to raise some eyebrows. Oh and your head coach had the gumption to basically dare anybody to come catch him which is asinine. A little bit of tact and patience would have gone a long way towards keeping OM out of trouble.

Leo Lewis and Laremy Tunsil are both perfect examples. Both of those guys were probably receiving some cash from boosters of 3 or 4 different schools at the very least.
