It ALL depends on your age and marital status. Whether San Antonio is for you is entirely dependent in the stage of life you're in.

I lived there in my mid 20s and absolutely loathed it. It is NOT geared for single 20-somethings with college degrees looking for single 20-somethings with college degrees. Unless you are poor and like fat Mexican women who have already had 3 kids, and prefer to hang out in crappy suburban retail strip center bars - then it's ideal. I couldn't get over the lack of attractive single educated white women and the fact that there's no real centralized post-college "scene." It's just beige, characterless, sprawling suburbia starting from the edge of downtown stretching for 50 miles in every direction. You will occasionally see an attractive woman who appears like she knowns English, but there's a 100% chance she's already married and moved there with her husband (or came back home from college with him). Hot single females just don't move there post-college. They go to Dallas, Austin and Houston. Period. The day I moved from San An Phony Ho to Austin was the second greatest day of my life behind the birth of my daughter. My life changed for the better INSTANTLY.

Now, that said, being in my mid-30s these days and married with a kid, could I live in San Antonio? Yeah. There's nothing bad about it for families. In fact, there's a lot to be said for it if you are like me and your life now is your kid and coming home to your house. If I moved back there I'd commit to SuburbLife, get a house in the Dominion and live large. I'd probably like it.

It just depends where you are on the Road of Life.
