Of the three major Texas cities it's the easiest by far to get around in, somehow traffic doesn't get as bad as Houston or Dallas. In that same breath, I'm gonna tell you under no circumstances do you ever want to to try to drive north out of San Antonio along I-35 to Austin. Might be the worst interstate in the country.
Plenty to do in that area alone and you aren't more than 4 hours from either of the other two major cities and if you are into outdoors and hunting then the hill country is even shorter than that.
They also just had two BBQ places listed in the state's top 50 so they've got that going for them too. Don't move here unless you like BBQ, I'm joking....kinda.....
As already stated, there will be more Mexicans than you are probably used to but I wouldn't call that a downside (except for the illegal ones).
That's about all I've got, I hate big cities on principle and will do my absolute best to never live in a town bigger than B/CS where we all went to school on this board (~225K and even that's too big).
