Who do you propose that Sterk replace him with?

Open recruiting for someone who doesn't think Cross Country and the throws are the only events in T&F...and is seriously interested in making Mizzou at least a middle-of-the-pack T&F team.

I actually prefer we spend zero dollars on track. So if the new coach cost more than zero dollars, I'm opposed.

Well, since "zero dollars" ain't gonna happen...and changing coaches wouldn't increase cost...I'd prefer a winning non-rev program rather than the chronically sub-par one we have.
But, being charitable, I'll let you cut all funding for Cross Country.
ETA: And soccer. You can whack soccer. And maybe Diving/swim. But Cross Country and soccer, for sure.

Where Missouri is located, with a decent coach, you could recruit the Midwest, Texas, SE, and even the Plains states to get those long distance Native American runners.
A small investment... because no one other then Oregon/Nike is dropping big bucks... could very well lead to a national title in the next decade.
Why not? You aren't starved for cash right now. To be honest given the climate Missouri could be like Arkansas and dominate track in the SEC.
