we were better than a 2 win team with the talent we have. we were probably better than a 2 win team last year as well
you cant do what chad did and still expect to have a job. I mean jesus christ be1 barely won as many games as John l in twice the time

It will probably take at least 2 years to get bowl eligible but we can at least show signs of moving towards that goal and any competent coach will be able to do that because we're at rock bottom now.
The better the coach, the faster we will see improvement and the higher ceiling that coach will have in terms of win totals.
But even the worst coaches in college football can muster more than two wins per season. It's almost like Morris was intentionally sabotaging our team. Maybe he was sabotaging our QBs so his son could take the starting job next year?

With the right coach, we will be bowl eligible following next season.
Next season is a grinder for a new coach however.
at home...
Nevada
Charleston Southern
Alabama
LSU
Tenner
Ole Miss
UL Monroe
Away
Notre Dame
Miss State
TAMU (Jerry's World)
Auburn
Mizzou (Arrowhead Stadium)
Can you just dream and imagine a new coach coming into that and actually pull off a win against TAMU at Jerry's World or somehow beat Notre Dame...

Jacolby Criswell update from Danny:
quote:
Jacolby tells me "most of the department" has reached out from Arkansas and told him, basically, to stay patient as he'll likely be the first phone call and visit for whoever takes over. He was also told that they're hoping to make a hire ASAP, which is probably no surprise either.
The coaches have no idea if they'll still be here to help recruit Jacolby, but I thought it was nice that they'd take the initiative and reach out to an in-state guy to say "Hey, just hang in there and don't write Arkansas off yet," so to speak.

I'm interested to see how many of these guys end up at big P5 schools. Probably a very small percentage

whoever we hire needs to nail solid transfers to make this work after this early signing period that's gonna be ugly for us

I wouldn't put it past Chad to be calling all his Texas HS football coach buddies and doing everything he can to poison Arkansas recruiting in Texas.

I've thought the same. Or these guys knew Chad was gone and this was a fluff/soft commitment from some.

It would seem so by the looks of it. I hope its not long term.

Wonder if he'll follow his dad so he can sabotage the QB position for his son at his new school

So this is worse than when Bert called them out for playing a soft bitch version of football?
This is worse than when Arkansas destroyed the SWC by leaving?
SSDD, these weren't 5 stars committed or we are losing, its the same 3*/low 4* caliber that Arkansas has always been able to pull out of Texas.
