1) UT was a college before TX was a state
2) The Biggest city in TX is named after Former TN governor Sam Houston
3) If it wasn't for the Tennessee Volunteers, Texas would be the University of North Mexico

So not really. Maybe west of the MS, but in the Southeast if you say UT everyone knows who youre talking about. Good try though
