Seems a little hasty to me. There are lots of domestic violence cases these days and a lot of times it takes some time for the whole story to come out. People can embellish things if not totally make them up. Lots of times each party bears some responsibility for what transpired and frequently statements get retracted. Oftentimes the police are not there when the incident transpired and witness little, if anything. Regardless, their job is to diffuse the situation and leave it to the justice system to sort things out. And I hate to think of people being tried/disciplined/dismissed based on a police report.

I'm certainly not condoning verifiable domestic violence but a little due process doesn't hurt anything.

This story sure reads as if the woman was doing nothing to PROVOKE the kid. Sounds like a pretty one sided story.

They say men should never hit a woman...why don't they say if a man is to never hit a woman, she is never to provoke him.

Verdict first, trial to follow - that's the way these things are dealt with nowadays.
