a lot of people including engineers don't even know Alabama has an engineering program. I didn't until i worked at the TVA plant in northern AL. AUburn is considered the premiere engineering program in the state.
given the negative stereotypes of the state of AL, not sure i would feel comfortable with 'Alabama' on my resume.

And the state of South Carolina has no premier engineering schools.

Then you undervalue Alabama engineering. Especially speciality majors and civil engineering. It's gotten me this far.

i'm not anti-alabama engineering. you the one who was bragging but provided no evidence of your claim.
statics is statics regardless of where its taught and i think Clemson can lure better professors because it is better location, with a lake and near blue ridge. also between the two largest cities in southeast.
tuscaloosa is a mill town in a flat area.

I was kidding. I have no idea. But you reacted.
Alabama civil engineering is actually the oldest in the country outside of West Point.

Nope. I'm glad Clempson won the natty. Clempson is my second favorite team.
Try again.

You've clearly never been to Tuscaloosa.

i been everywhere via google map street view. lol
don't doubt that
even commi Moscow's red square
tuscaloosa is aight.
i was thinking about where i would have gone if I had not gone to Clemson and parents would have paid out of state.
here is my rough draft order that could change after campus visit.
1. UGA
2. UVA
2. NC State
3. Va Tech
4. Either Auburn or Alabama. probably Auburn b/c i like
a clocktower building and architecture has less of
those greek columns.
5. tie - SC, Mercer, Georgia Southern, Miss State

Google earth should tell you that it's not flat.

tuscaloosa is little bit of an eyesore, and i prefer a college town that doesn't have mall or it is farther away from campus. i give it some points for the river nearby , i like a water feature.
the campus overall is fine although too many roads, and i like the strip area nearby. they got a little crazy with the greek columns which seems a little pretentious.
reminds of that time Obama gave in a speech while campaigning in 2008 with some plastic greek columns on stage.

Tuscaloosa is a major city for the black belt. It is what it is. Great parts. Terrible parts.
The campus is gorgeous. End of story.
The strip is overrated. Downtown and Temmerson Square are better.

i prefer a restaurant/bar areas that is close to campus so i can walk. the downtown area would be a good hike.
what i like about Clemson and UVA it is like the campus is on a country estate and in fact Clemson is on a former plantation. Bama's campus is a lot bigger and more spread out, and more roads.
i probably like Miss State's campus the best of the SEC schools (it has a drill field and a small lake) but i got to subtract points for fact that you have to cross a busy 4 lane road and walk a ways to the Cotton District which still doesn't have much being fairly new. the downtown is like 2 miles from campus.
i would have SC higher if 5 points and vista were adjacent to campus, and 5 points was safer. the stadium 2 miles from campus is a negative for me as well.

That explains a lot about you. State students came to Tuscaloosa on weekends to party when I was an undergraduate. Starkville has improved. But not that much.

lol plenty of bars and parties at MSU, why drive 2 hours to go to bar or party with students you won't see often. not like the beer in tuscaloosa is better. lol

Not saying LSU is top 30, but 91 is a bit ridiculous. there are a lot of schools on that list that I seriously doubt are doing better than LSU engineering alums. Plus we just built a 100 million dollar facility
Said that their plants in BR didn't have hardly any LSU engineers, and that the intern programs weren't set up with LSU. They had students interning from out of state.
I found that odd and a bit disappointing at the time; there's no reason for LSU not to be a bigger player in the petrochemical field.
