So who did you think LSU should have hired?? Kliff Kingsbury?
Nutt? Herman was alway going to Austin.
Orgeron has HC experience, plus he has hired a formidable staff with Aranda, Canada, etc.
He has coached SEVEN GAMES.

Good evening Joe! I just think maybe we should've looked a little harder instead of throwing a tantrum and leaving the table when the hottest coach on the market wanted to hear out Texas (even if he was leaning there anyway), and then settling for O right away. We have a top 10 national job and had a 3 month head start on everyone. We settled on a DL coach who no one else, not even mid major openings, bothered to reach out to about the head coach position. He could perform well, but it's okay to admit that knowing what we knew at the time, it was an abysmal search and we settled.
I don't know why LSU fans feel the need to validate it like it was actually a good hire. If ANY other SEC shchool hired him, we would be pointing and laughing. When he took over, the consensus was win out and the job is his. Only one loss to Bama and he has an outside shot at the job. Two losses and he's out. That was the universal thought, and we lowered the bar.

He failed at Ole Miss, he also coached at USC in the interim, and they passed on him. That doesn't mean he's destined to fail, but no need to distort the truth and say "he's only coached 7 games" as if he's an unknown up and coming commodity that we don't know enough about. Maybe he learned from his previous mistakes and is a better coach, just seems like a school like LSU shouldn't be settling for such a retread and hoping he's improved. That's something South Carolina does, like with Muschamp.
And he hired good coordinators? Les hired Aranda. Canada hasn't coached yet. I think he'll be good but we've also never hired an OC without our fanbase collectively praising him as the savior upon the hire only to blame him as incompetent and what's holding us back after a few seasons.
