True story. I was with a buddy one saturday and I didn't know who Steve McNair was. We were walking past a school in Jackson, MS called Chastain. Bunch of guys were playing football of ages 16-20 I guess. I guess he was in town visiting family or friends.

Anyway we were asked if we wanted to play and we said yes. So my buddy went to one side and I went to the other. McNair asked me if I played football and if so what. I said I can play receiver or DB because I was fast but I prefer to run the ball. He told me to go out for a deep pass. First play, over the shoulder TD. I will never forget (because we were the only two white guys playing) and several guys said "He's a player, he's a player."

It sounds like I am tooting my own horn but I'm just telling you what happened. One of the guys from the other team asked me how it felt to catch a TD from Steve McNair. I knew the name but would never have known if not for that.

We eventually took a break as several went to go buy food for everyone and some water and softdrinks etc. During that time I got to talk with Steve for a while when I could. He was very popular as you can imagine. You never forget something like that.
