I know it's WAY to early but is there any noise on who looks better so far?

I agree based off what I have heard. Just curious because volnation is sucking off Jarrett.

Read the Spring Football thread. Looks as if Dormady may have an edge. Some of the chatter coming out of spring practice says he has a decided edge in the passing game and isn't nearly as behind mobility-wise as many expected.
However, this should be expected as it is his third (???fact check me) spring camp, vs Guarantano's first go-round. The experience may land him the starting position, but I would assume that it will be a rather short leash for the first couple of games unless something happens that just seals the deal long term (injury, significant development/progression, etc).

According to Volfan his (usually reliable) sources say Dormady has basically already won it

Yep. Dormady was an EE.

I am completely expecting Dormady to win it atp, the offense to look like pure shite the first month of the season. Not because Dormady is awful but because this offense is not best suited for him and Butch is too fricking prideful and stupid to adjust his baby to fit his players' strengths.
Enter Gitmo when VOLS are 2-4 and suddenly the offense looks more effective because Geronimo can run around and make something happen ala Worley/Dobbs 2014.

The Worley read option was as dumb as it gets. 99 out of 100 times the RB would get the ball, so we were purposely not blocking a Dlineman for no reason. That rare occasion when he did run it would be for a three yard gain at best. What was the point? The linebackers never even hesitated and a lucky DE got to go tee off on a running back.
Butch is retarded, but I like to think that even he could learn from that.

Yeah I really cannot recall an instance when the read option worked with Worley or Peterman back there. The only halfway effective running play was the delayed draw to Hurd up the middle.
I think Dobbs finally came in against Alabama and the entire offense changed. I'm pretty sure VOLS were averaging like 200+ rushing the rest of the season when it was a struggle to eclipse 100 against fricking UTC earlier in the year.

I'm honestly not sure he kept it a single time
Maybe in like a 4th and 1 situation

I remember he did one time against either Georgia or Oklahoma and he gained like 5 yards lol

Larry Scott is the wildcard imo. If they can tweak some things on offense to help Dormady get it out of his hands fast and the OL gives him adequate time to throw, there is no reason that Dormady can't do what Drew Lock is doing for Missouri in their spread system.
Neither one of them are going to burn you with their feet, but they are more than capable enough to pick up first downs. Both have cannons for arms. Dormady can definitely be successful imo -- It's going to boil down to play calling. Hopefully having a dedicated QB coach helps with communicating with the OC and getting his guys in the best position to win/playing to their strengths.

Honestly I have blocked Worley out of my mind till now. But that will end up being a solid comparison.
