Gus isn't, and has never been, a QB coach.

He's an OC. He's never had any positional attachment as a coach. The closest he's come to being a QB coach is him showing his QBs how he wants certain plays carried out. Buddy of mine works the summer QB camps, and this is true.

Lindsey is a true QB coach, and this was something Gus was sorely needing, yet he felt comfortable having Lashlee there to be a yes man. He finally got rid of that problem and brought in an OC who was a QB guy and has his very own ideas on how to run an offense.

yep

Gus obviously doesn't have the Midas touch with developing QB's. Didn't help he wouldn't allow independent coaching before this season. That's almost as good as practice time for a fledgling QB. Probably didn't help to have(carbon-copy) Lashlee as OC. since Gus was almost all the guy ever had in the way of quarterback development.
