I'm not here to defend Del Rio, just stating that if he starts it is because the coaches believe that he gives us the best chance to win football games. I will support whatever the coaches decide and support whomever is under center and yes, will be critical of poor play at all positions as well as with poor coaching decisions. We pay Coach Mac a lot of money to make these decisions so lets support what he believes will win ball games. Go Gators!

There is no doubt that Mac knows a lot more about football than me. I will question Nuss and his ability to develop QBs if Del Rio is the best guy. He will have missed a lot of practice with injuries and a more talented Franks/Trask will have had two Springs, two Summers, and two Falls to get ready.

I take the spring game with a very small grain of salt. Much of Franks development will come with him working on his mechanics, command of the playbook, getting chemistry with the wide receivers, and studying film over this summer.

I'm not sticking up for Nuss, but Del Rio has shown that he can make some pretty damn good passes as long as they're short to intermediate. He just doesn't have that long distance timing like Appleby did, which is a huge problem in our offense and has been for quite some time.

I just don't think we should think too far about Del Rio winning the job, but his seat would be molten lava. He'd have to play absolutely perfect games, because Franks is a legit deep threat and has wheels.
