For Kentucky

Would you mind Texas joining the ACC
To make the ACC much stronger and more importantly command more money from their contracts than what the SEC receives

Problem is for this group of four by denying UT they are actually helping our their rival universities if Texas decides to join the ACC

Would probably work except the logistics would be crazy. Texas mentality would fit them better but not sure how Texas will react to not being the top dog, they call it the All Carolina Conference for a reason.

You just are not getting the dynamics of the SEC. Of the P5's the B1G and SEC are most "groupthink" and to not upset this dynamic you need damn near 100% agreement but the SEC separates from the B1G in that they want a real equality of peers when they actually get in the room to vote on issues. While you may just be hearing me say this on how they would vote on Texas you are missing that it applies to issues across the board.

When Texas left the SIAA and took TAMU they wanted control and wanted Ole Miss and LSU to go with them but Ole Miss and LSU did not want that dynamic. It is amazing how 100 years later the same thinking still is in the decision rooms today on the conference really moving as a single entity. Not sure the leadership of texas will ever fully understand or appreciate this.

In the ACC they are full of egos so Texas will feel more at home, the issue is the bridge the ACC would have to build between the two. I think Line Beards are the closest ACC school to Austin, and rumor in the CAF it was Texas that blackballed their move to the B12 in 2010. Jurich may be appeased by money but some of his big donors may not be so easily swayed.

BTW, you in Austin and are you going to Willie in a few weeks?

The ACC does not want nor do they need the "shorthorns"!
