I really think this season could be better then we all think. We have the pieces in place to be really good. Obviously it depends on how much the players and coaches develop. The competition that Kirby has established on the team seem to be making players better. Wynn, Eason, Godwin, Wims, are the more notables ones. We have heard Kirby praise many of the players this spring for their effort and attitude. Not to mention a lot of really good freshman aren't even on campus yet to push the players even harder. This team just has a different feel to it this spring, a feeling like the are ready to break out.

Isn't that the case every pre-season?

No way I am buying into any pre-season hype this year.
I just refuse to let myself do it.
Maybe I am a defeated man, but Im going to be realistically optimistic this preseason. I think 9-3 is likely as well

To quote Drew Magary:
"No sport is more dependent upon self-delusion than college football, mostly because the national title is usually won by one of roughly 10 schools. The other programs in Division I are helpless. . . You practically have to be insane to be a college football fan. Anyone who takes reality at face value would never bother with it. The younger a sport's participants, the more insane the expectations are. Since young athletes have little in the way of a track record, you can project all kinds of unreasonable future accomplishments for them. Every year, every coach on every team thinks to himself, "By golly, this team has a chance to be special." And they NEVER are."
