I'm not saying the guy is great, but I can see why his fans approve of job thus far.

Frank Beamer averaged 8-4
Bill Snyder averaged 8-4
Phil Fulmer averaged 9-3
Bobby Bowden averaged 9-3
Gary Patterson averaged 9-3
Mike Gundy is around 9-4
Mark Dantonio is around 9-4 @ michigan state

All those guys are consider to be really good coaches and each of them didn't exactly play in the SEC West.

If you can basically guarantee 9 or 10 wins every year, it only takes a couple more games in one particular season to go your way and you'll be hoisting a trophy
