At what point did the Ole Miss Administration and coaching staff decide that they didn't want to piss off the NCAA?

Some of the allegations that have surfaced that occurred while the NCAA was in the act of investigating your program leads some to believe that the Ole Miss folks didn't really give a shite and they just continued on business as usual and went on pushing their own agenda in the face of the NCAA.
