Watch the video. She pushes him from behind and the first words to him were some form of "you hit me" based on the coaches response of "I didn't hit you"
She was looking for it clear as day. That wasn't a "hit" give me a break. The push from behind was more "violent" than whatever the original crap was.
She could have shaken hands with the other team separately, stayed in the dugout or a multitude of other things to avoid the drama and still show a glimmer of sportsmanship.
She chose the course with the probability of drumming up the most drama.
