I grew up in the small town of Johnsonville (Florence County) and one unique thing about the town is that it is where General Francis Marion accepted his commission. Also, he had a camp on Snow's Island which is bordered by Lynches and the Great Pee Dee River. Anyways, South Carolina is full of history and no matter where you go in the State, you will find out more about it.

I'm headed to Johnsonville tomorrow for a meeting, actually. It'll be my first time headed there.

As far as BBQ goes, I enjoy a wide variety of sauces but Western NC BBQ is hands down my favorite. Lexington BBQ and Green River in Saluda are two of my favorite joints.
