I've yet to see anyone in this thread call him a elite shooter. OP said he's comparable to JR Smith (who's not an elite shooter especially by your definition). I've yet to see you counter the claim with something remotely reasonable.

The OP's premise is that JR Smith and Malik Monk are comparable players. They aren't. I laughed at the idea. JR is a one trick pony, but his one trick is very good and fits well on a team with Lebron James. Malik is not as good at JR's one trick, but he excels in other areas. I said that too BTW.

I'd call 44%+ elite.
38-44% good, but not knockdown.
35%-37% decent.
And anything below 35% average to below average as you go down.
And I guess my other point has been missed completely. Those that are NBA draft evaluators do not evaluate college prospects on their shooting by their 3 point percentage, they look at free throw percentage. A good free throw percentage to them means that a prospect's stroke is good and their three will eventually translate very well.
