They could've played until the sun came up and LSU wouldn't have scored on Alabama.

The offense was not very likely to, but Bama was locked down by LSU's D too. At any point in the first 3 quarters and into the fourth, LSU could have returned a punt, or scored on a turnover, and pulled it out. We also missed a FG in the 1st quarter that could have mattered. It was a close game that one or two big plays could have changed the outcome.

LSU's defense was great, but Alabama moved the ball in spurts most of the game. LSU had nothing at all. They didn't even come close to scoring after the 1st drive when they were handed the ball in FG range and promptly moved backwards.

Alabama had drives of
9 plays, 32 yards
9 plays, 67 yards
5 plays, 54 yards
12 plays, 90 yards
15 plays, 50 yards

LSU had drives of
6 plays, 37 yards
11 plays, 40 yards
6 plays, 15 yards
2 plays, 15 yards

Those were literally their only 4 drives that gained over 10 yards. They had 1 2nd half drive that got more than 10 yards.

Alabama had 325 yards of offense. LSU had 125.

The story of LSU football for the last 3 seasons. If they could have, they would have won more than 8 regular season games in '14, '15, '16.
