The man is 2-32 against opponents that finish a season ranked in the AP Top 25. How can any sane person rank him the 2nd best coach in the league?

Again, who would you rank ahead of him?

Smart? McElwain? Sumlin? Malzahn? O? Bert?

Here is how the SEC Coaches rank in terms of record vs. opponents that finish a season ranked (Win %):

68.0%- Saban (34-16)
34.6%- Freeze (9-17)
33.3%- Malzahn (6-12)
33.3%- Smart (1-2)
33.3%- Orgeron (1-2)
31.8%- Sumlin (7-15)
30.0%- McElwain (3-7)
25.0%- Bielema (5-15)
25.0%- Jones (4-13)
25.0%- Muschamp (1-3)
8.3%- Mason (1-11)
6.7%- Stoops (1-14)
5.9%- Mullen (2-32)
0.0%- Odom (0-4)

Based off that, I think I'd pick just about anyone ahead of Dan Mullen. The man has had seven years to build a program, and he's shown zero signs of getting State to a point where they can routinely (or even occasionally) beat solid opponents.

The man is a master of creating a manageable schedule that makes it look like he's had a decent year:

*The 4 easiest OOC games possible
*Annual eastern opponent of Kentucky
*Beat whichever West team is having a horrible year
*Hope to get an easy rotating East opponent each year

Put all that together, and he wins 6 or 7 games every year even though he beats no team with a pulse.
