Yes, there were big plays. I'm not sure what you think this is evidence of. Big plays are usually crucial in games between two top teams with few weakness that can be exploited consistently. That doesn't mean Hurts was anywhere near as accurate as Coker.

I mentioned the OC because people will (quite rightly in many cases) lay the blame there. My point is that the OC wasn't the one making Hurts an inaccurate passer. That was on Hurts himself. In other words, it actually gives Clemson oblique support by taking away the "well, we had a new OC with one week's experience calling plays" excuse, at least as far as Hurts is concerned.

Hurts is a better runner than Coker. It was bama's defense that lost the game in the end, not Hurts.

SPecial teams is main reason Bama won the first year, not Coker.
