BamaChine owned it for a short period, but I thought it was Tom in Bham who ran the site.

BamaChine was the guy I was thinking of and Tom too...Hanni. acquired it from him. 'Chine hangs out on Shaggy. Crimson Red Sports is where people migrated and TerryP seems like a good dude...but all three boards: Wooly, TideSports, and CRS are slooooowwwww and boring. Maybe they will pick up when football season starts up again. Alabama fans really don't have a single great board anymore...it all fragmented.

TideSports should have never went away.

TideSports should be a case study of how you frick up an on-line community and lose your ad revenue. I think the New York Times organization owned the Tuscaloosa News at that point. They saw the huge, loyal fan base that congregated there and decided to try and monetize the board figuring people would pay up. A few did but by and large people won't pay for that content as it ends up on a free board like the Rant anyway.

I think you're mixing up your boards. TerryP owns RollTideBama, which actually took in users from the Woolly after all the b.s started. CrimsonRedSports was/is the polar opposite of Woolly. Many of the old TS users congregated there because they didn't want to be apart of a place filled with so much banter and vulgarity. There is a new Woolly, but it isn't even the least bit like it used to be, or nearly as active.

True. This is the best one we have currently. If TalibanFans.com wasn't so uptight, it would be a great place to chat and talk sports.
