Alabama Basketball needed a BIG personality and a salesman for the program. Someone who can go around the country and sell the program and the University.

I think we got our guy.

Hiring Marshall would've brought excitement bc he's a big name but then it would've faded. Hiring Avery brought excitement bc he's a big name, but it didn't fade bc he knows how to keep the excitement in the fanbase. Also, landing Avery was better bc think of how many recruits we've either landed or just recruited that's said something about they like Alabama bc Avery played/coached in the NBA and they want to make it to the NBA. Marshall wouldn't have had that type of appeal to players

I think so too, but I also think it's too early to say Avery is better than Marshall. Avery is certainly a good salesman, promoter, and recruiter, but Marshall has had way more on the court success so far. Avery hasn't had enough time to build his college résumé yet.
