How important is style of play to y'all this year or do you even care as long as we win? For the last 7 years, we've consistently heard we want to play an exciting, up tempo brand of basketball. Then again, every coach in the country says that. According to KenPom, we've been 318 and 302 in the country in adjusted tempo under Johnson. I'm like you. As long as we win I don't really care. I would like to see it though. We have 3 very athletic big men, one of the fastest point guards in the country who has shown a recent knack for distributing (and lob passes) and we have 3 or 4 very athletic wings (Ingram, Petty, Jones, and Davis) who can shoot. There's no reason we can't go uptempo.

I don't care as long as we win. I don't like seeing bad shots and turnovers, regardless of the tempo, and I think that's something that needs to be cleaned up.

A slow tempo game can be great to watch if we execute some semblance of an offense and don't just go to sleep. Hopefully we'll have a more balanced inside/outside game this year and will open up what we can do.

It's great that the core of this team has bought in defensively over the past couple of years. It's good to be able to fall back on a good defense when the offense is struggling.
