We were on our way to being the Spurs of the east before we made the stupid decision to fire Danny Ferry. What could've been.

Exactly. Handing all the keys to a 1st time head coach and then making him a first time GM is not too wise.

The Hawks have receded to their normal position in what I call "NBA Limbo". Good enough to squeak into the playoffs with a first round exit and not bad enough to get to the lotto and get a difference maker.

The way you break through that is with an adroit GM which Ferry was well on his way in doing. We have regressed every year in all aspects since his departure.

At least the Falcons have Quinn who looks to be the rudder for the rudderless dimitroff. The draft picks have improved immeasurably since Quinn's arrival.
