Ole Miss has been awful for extended periods of time in the past. State was never a consistent 9-10 win team then. Not sure why you'd expect any different now. Dan Mullen will not consistently win 5 or more SEC games every year, which is what it would take to be a 9 win football team, including wining all his OOC games, which they have also struggled to do

State is a 6-8 win team under Mullen with a shot at 10 every 3-4 years. 2018 will be State's next chance to win 10 games

OM being down will help some- no doubt.
