This conference doesn't need any "cripples" around the league dragging it down in both quality and reputation. Personally, I hate like hell it happened.

No it will not.. Ole Miss sucked and all of sudden got good recruits by paying them. End of story.

Ole Miss has historically sucked. That they will likely continue to suck if sanctions are dished out changes nothing.

The SEC will be fine, even without Ole Miss winning 9 games once in a while.

That's literally all that was lost.

How old are you?

It's not going to hurt the conference. With the bowl ban, the other 13 school will get more money from our conference bowl games. SEC has more money than any other conference btw

It's going to be great for the SEC. It's going to teach teams that if you cheat you will get caught.

Really? Besides your normal 5-6 teams that go 9-3 or better, everyone else is like 8-5 and worse. So, who cares if Ole Miss is the new Vandy. It will helps the like of the Aggies, Razorbacks, and State, have more wins.

The only way it will hurt the SEC is if it goes back to the way it was around or before 20 years ago, with everyone rolling over on everyone else and half the conference on probation.

My guess is that is exactly what Ole Miss is trying to do, and if the unfounded report about Leo Lewis turns out to be true, it's proof-positive.

Teams on probation in the 90's (or stemming from violations in the 90's):

Alabama
Auburn
Arkansas
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
Ole Miss
MSU
Tennessee

It was also during this time, and the issues faced by multiple programs within the conference, that allowed other teams outside of the conference to take national prominence.

So, there is a precedent. It's not like this hasn't happened before.
