I wouldn't say most teams pay recruits. Sure there are teams that pay to get kids to visit and/or to sign with them. But I wouldn't say all that many do it. And I also wouldn't say that the schools that do cheat even cheat very often. Hell I wouldn't even say the coaches are even always aware of the cheating, because almost all the time it is boosters that are giving recruits money. However I'm sure every school commits some type of 2nd/3rd degree violation from time to time, but thats really not a big deal if you give kids some cream cheese to go with their bagel.

I know Miami doesn't pay recruits. Every time we get in trouble its for paying players after they come here. But with the way the stipends work now, even that isn't necessary. Kids can easily afford car payments and other small bills with the stipends they receive, especially if a booster owns dealerships and can give them good deals.

Are potential recruits getting $$ to take visits? Are they getting $$ to NOT visit other programs? Are they accepting impermissible transportation, lodging, meals, clothing from boosters during the recruiting process?

I think we all agree kids are getting shite from every program in one form or another.

I'm just not so sure that staffers within the Athletic Program are directly orchestrating the impermissible benefits and acting as a go-between for recruits/players/boosters.
