ANALYSYS
Bad News: Chalk up another historic upset to the roller coaster season that 2017 is shaping up to be. Kentucky stepped up and put up the highest score in program history.
Good News: In any other year, 197.050 is an acceptable mid season road score and more than enough to beat Kentucky. (It adds to Alabama's 197 count and on the road is huge since the national seeds are based on a requisite 5 away scores into your average).
For context, here's Alabama's last few scores in visits to Lexington.... and yes, every single one beat UK handily
2015 196.700 Alabama goes on to win SEC title
2013 -*
2012 196.000 Alabama wins national championship
2010 197.225
2008 196.300
2006 196.650
2004 197.075
2002 197.425 Alabama wins national championship
*faced UK at neutral location (score:196.050)
While the inclination is to panic... and the loss does not help morale... Alabama's 197.050 is a pretty unalarming score for this point in the year.
Still, results matter in the SEC and Bama will look to fend off Auburn once again next week. This time in Coleman Coliseum, on alumni night. The pressure is on, can the Tide handle the heat?
Anyways.
Hat's off to Kentucky. The GymCats deserve this 100% and their long suffering fans will remember tonight forever. If we win an SEC or National Title this April, we won't remember a thing.

Just realized, of all our past scores in Lexington since 2002..... NONE of them would have beaten UK today. That's 2 National Title teams, 1 SEC title team, and seven of the eight were Sarah Patterson squads.
quote:so not really
Alabama has fallen back.
quote:That's the ticket.
Everyone else in the SEC has invested more.
