I believe he retired. But Phillips Sims never had harsh feelings over it. He's a Virginia high school head coach himself now.

That's what always bugged me, Sims was so grateful and respectful of his time at Bama. Even when he was camping with the Arizona Cardinals, he still spoke highly of his time at Bama.
