Who are our legitimate 5-star targets and where do we stand with each currently?

From @hackzubbard

Surtain Jr., Tyson Campbell and KJ Henry are the legitimate 5-star targets at this time.

I think Alabama lands Campbell, the nation’s No. 3 cornerback. There’s a good chance at landing Henry, a Jack linebacker. It’s likely a two-team race between Alabama and Clemson at this time.

I mentioned Surtain Jr. in the question above.

Who’s going to be the next commitment? Will Jalen Cunningham get the offer? Who are our targets on the OL?

From @insider_alabama

We’ll break your questions up into three paragraphs.

There isn’t a clear candidate as for who could be the next commitment. Bobby Brown, a 4-star defensive tackle target from Lamar High School (Arlington, Texas), has a set commitment date of Nov. 2. That bodes well for Alabama because he’s scheduled to take an official visit to Tuscaloosa on Oct. 21 for Alabama’s game against Tennessee. Brown has been projected in my mock signing class for several months now, and with him taking an official visit just two weeks prior to a decision, it sets up nicely for the Tide.

I think Jalen Cunningham, a 3-star nose tackle from St. Clair County High School (Odenville, Ala.), will ultimately get the green light from Alabama to commit. If he does, then he’d be the next to commit. He already told SEC Country that he will commit if Alabama tells him he can. With this being a down year for interior linemen, and Alabama needing several, I think he’ll get the news he wants. The interest in Cunningham is certainly there from Alabama’s end as defensive line coach Karl Dunbar was at his high school game this past Friday. If Alabama wasn’t interested, it wouldn’t have sent an assistant to watch his game. Cunningham is coming off a turf toe injury, so these first few games and how he bounces back from the injury will be important.

Alabama already has two offensive line commitments in 4-star tackle Tommy Brown and 3-star guard/center Jarrett Bell. The Tide would like to add one or two more on the offensive line. The main targets to know are 4-star tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere and 4-star guards Penei Sewell and Emil Ekiyor. Right now, I have Sewell projected in Alabama’s class. The Tide are strongly in the mix for Petit-Frere and Ekiyor, who’s committed to Michigan but has made multiple trips to Tuscaloosa.
