Alabama remains in the hunt for the nation's top slot receiver, Jaylen Waddle, who announced his top six on Sunday night.

Along with the Crimson Tide, Florida State, Oregon, TCU, Texas, and Texas A&M made the cut for the Bellaire (Texas) Episcopal product.

Waddle emerged as a top target for the UA staff heading into the summer, only to solidify his standing after two stellar camp performances in June and July.

Last month, the four-star receiver caught up with BamaOnLine following is return from Tuscaloosa.

“The competition, that was my favorite part out there," Waddle said. "It was different, way different. I liked how the Bama guys held each other accountable."

Tide wide receivers coach Mike Locksley watched Waddle play on Friday night. Alabama also had the 5-foot-9.5, 175-pounder in attendance for its season-opener against FSU.

Waddle told BamaOnLine last month that the Tide would receive an official visit, the date of which has yet to be set.

The U.S. Army All-American is rated the No. 11 receiver and the No. 67 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

The Crystal Ball currently reads in favor of Alabama at 33 percent.
