Speaking of in-state kids, Thompson High School in Alabaster (same school as Taulia Tagovailoa) has a Class of 2019 OT that is about to explode onto the recruiting scene. Auburn has already offered and John Garcia loves him.

Amari Kight Highlights

His profile says he is 6'5" 300 pounds, but he gave an interview recently and he's supposedly up to 6'7" 315 pounds.

With Pierce Quick, Clay Webb and Kight in next year's class we may not have to step out of state for our OL haul.

Alpharetta (Ga.) four-star cornerback Jaycee Horn feels Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee are a few of the programs recruiting him the hardest right now. The 6-foot, 175-pound prospect named the Crimson Tide as his leader.

“Bama is standing out right now,” Horn said. “Just their resume, and getting the chance to get coached by one of the greatest coach in the nation. So, that’s what puts Bama up top right now.”

Horn has been a frequent visitor to Tuscaloosa this offseason.

“I went down there three times. One for just a little visit, that’s when I first got the offer. Then, I went down there for a spring practice, and the last one was for the spring game. It was a crazy atmosphere, the fans are crazy. I felt like they made me a priority, I got to talk to Coach Saban and Coach Ansley a couple times.”

The Gamecocks are pressing to get Horn in their class.

“Coach [Will] Muschamp and Coach [Travaris Robinson] have had a lot of success with [defensive backs]. It’s a program on the come up, they’re trying to build a good program. They feel they can help me transform into a first round corner.”

He sees South Carolina moving in the right direction with its program.

“There’s still a lot of room for improvement, but I think they’re going about it in the right way, recruiting some of the best athletes. They’re real high on my list because Coach T-Rob, his record speaks for itself.”

The Vols also remain in frequent contact with Horn.

“I talk to Coach Jones like four times a week. We got a great relationship. They just came by the school, so they are in a good place right now.”

This summer, Horn mentioned possible visits to Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee, but no dates had been set. A timeline for his commitment is not really in place either saying it could come this summer or after the season.

The 247Sports Composite, an industry generated average, currently ranks Horn as the nation’s No. 303 overall prospect in the 2018 class.
