MIDLANDS
It is a tremendous year for the defensive back in the state of Texas and Anthony Cook is currently the best of the best. He has all of the skills that you look for in a true cover corner. He is a technician at the position and has the size and attitude to play in tight coverage against the biggest and baddest wide receivers. The newly minted five-star prospect climbs the ladder to the No. 1 spot in the Midlands. He is a hard working prospect with an attitude and zest for the craft that we feel will help translate to his collegiate success. Cook is an UnderArmour-All-American and has been invited to The Opening Finals.
The depth at the safety position is amazing in the Midlands region, as there are five safeties rated in the Scout Top 100 in 2018.
Topping the list is Angleton (Texas) High athlete B.J. Foster, who is now the No. 1 rated safety in the region after being reclassified to the position from athlete. Following Foster is TCU commit Atanza Vongor from Grand Prairie (Texas) South Grand Prairie and LSU commit Caden Sterns from Cibolo (Texas) Steele. Arp (Texas) defender DeMarvion Overshown has one of the nation’s most elite offer lists and will remain rated at safety, but he could also get a look at linebacker as he grows and matures. Rounding out that impressive list of specimens is fierce defender Leon O'Neal from Cypress (Texas) Springs, who takes up his rightful place in the Scout Top 100.

MIDWEST
The top prospect in the Midwest continues to be offensive tackle Jack Carman. He is a prototype tackle body with length, athleticism and he plays with a mean streak. He definitely has a chance to challenge for five stars this spring and summer.
The whole Midwest is strong for offensive linemen this year. Some are right on the verge of four-star status.
It is also a good year for linebackers in the state of Ohio. Chris Oats and Dallas Gant were joined in the Scout 300 by Xavier Peters and Brian Asamoah is just outside that range and could move his way in soon.
