Recruiting Rankings matter in the sense that they have to match up with the coach and his process. If you're GP and you're from Toledo where you develop your kids for 5 years it's less important. If you are a blueblood who has the expectation to compete for a NC every year, rankings matter because of talent depth. But there is no doubt, having the biggest, fastest kids up and down your depth chart gives you a great advantage. But every once in a while, the coach who develops over 4-5 years sneaks in there(Washington,Oregon), we just need 1 to break through.
