Odds of success go way down at that point. OOS recruiting, especially for good players, is a lot tougher. Plus, it's harder for our coaches to evaluate guys from long distance. At this point, unless there's more real interest out there than we're hearing, he should start getting some Georgia kids on board. Get the ones who don't have NFL measurables but are good football players.

This ain't Alabama, and Kirby best get that through his head; top players from around the country won't be flocking to his door. He can survive a 20th ranked recruiting class while he tries to prove he's better than losing to Tech and Vanderbilt. But if he lets Tennessee and Auburn and South Carolina and Georgia Tech, etc, form relationships and ransack that second tier of in-state recruits, this will get ugly.

I don't think he can. It'll kill him in years 4, 5, and 6, just like it killed Richt.

You can't win enough in this conference with the guys you're talking about to keep the Georgia job.

If anything, you find raw prospects with NFL measurables. Good HS football player 3*s get you fired. You can't make a slow player fast or a small player big. High ceiling 3*s give you a chance if you can develop.
