I don't remember when we all hated him.

I wouldn't say "all".

In 2009/2010ish I think we were all very frustrated with him due to a lot of the playcalls, but I mean when carlton thomas is one of your feature backs, you have average to below average QB play, and your OL is garbage there's only so much you can do.

When he had capable talent at his disposal it was pretty clear how good he was. Maybe the best OC we've ever had.

That's what at least gives me a bit of hope for chaney. His playcalling this year was flat out awful. But with a (hopefully) improved OL, an improved Eason, elite RBs and TEs, and hopefully improved receivers, maybe he'll surprise us all.

I think we will see a difference this year. If not, we will get rid of Cheney, but it's a little early to be crucifying him. Our offensive struggles were more than just scheme and play calling:

Freshman QB
Porous O-Line
Receivers that couldn't create separation
Receivers that dropped the ball when they did get open

Yes, the play calling was frustrating at times but its hard to really open the offense up given all the problems I listed above. Hopefully the O-Line will be better this year, but as a sophomore, I believe you can trust Eason to do certain things to compensate for a weak O-Line (if there isn't any improvement). Hopefully the big uglies we have coming in will be able to step in an perform at a high level.
