Oh unintelligent, insecure LSixU fan. You would like for that to be the case, wouldn't you?
Let me ask you, before today had you even heard the name Bill Battle?
I'm going to assume the answer is no because, like most of your fan base, knowledge is not something that's necessarily associated with your kind.
Bill Battle is an Alabama alum who went on to compile a 59-22 record as the head coach of the University of Tennessee football program.
In 1981 'ol Bill decided to try his hand in merchandising. I could bore you with the details of this endeavor, but I'll just quote Wikipedia instead:
Got it? Good.
Battle was asked to step into the Alabama AD position after Making Moore passed away from cancer complications a few years ago. Battle didn't need the money. He was doing his alma mater a solid in it's time of need.
Fast forward a few years and Battle contracts cancer of his own. He is currently in remission (as far as we know) but one would probably be right to assume that the cancer battle (pun intended) made him think about the future, specifically of his company and his children.
Now, do you honestly think he was fired or perhaps you're just a mouth breathing fricking idiot?
I'll let you decide.

The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) is an American collegiate trademark licensing and marketing company. Founded in 1981 by Bill Battle in Selma, Alabama, CLC is the largest and oldest collegiate licensing company in the United States and currently provides its services to more than 200 colleges and universities, athletic conferences, bowl games, the Heisman Trophy, and the NCAA. Headquartered in Atlanta, the company also operates satellite offices in Arizona, Kansas, and Montana. On May 1, 2007, CLC was acquired by IMG.

None of that crap makes you a good AD. Instability is instability. Keep spinning.
