He was told to find another job I would assume

This. And nobody will take him seriously as a HC candidate until he can prove himself apart from Gus.
Did Kiffin take a paycut to go to FAU? I'll hang up and listen.

Isn't Rhett the reason Gus has been able to look moderately competent?

Because Gus told him he was gone if he didn't. Not that hard to understand, we have seen a few coaches in the SEC already do this recently.

Rumor is that Rhett (and many other coaches) want out of the SEC after that embarrassment Monday night.
Can't blame them... that was HUMILIATING.

Probably, but now we will know for sure.

Sucks to have lost to such a shitty team.

It was mutually beneficial for everybody.
He was asked to find another job, and he gets to forge his own reputation so people will take him more seriously in the future.
Not only his reputation will grow, but this gives him a chance to grow as a HC. He's been with Gus since he played QB for him in HS. Because of that I don't think Gus ever truly saw Rhett as an equal colleague and never took his input as seriously as he should have. That is equal reason for us to want Gus to move on from Rhett as well.
Rhett's not a dumb guy and he knows that although this isn't as good a job, it's the best move he could make right now for the future of his career

So Kiffin wasn't asked to leave? And he didn't take a paycut? Sounds the same to me. But you frickers are trying to turn this into an Auburn problem.

LOL at people here thinking they know why he left.
Not one of these guys know why he left. If he left on his on accord or was asked to leave. Or who made the decision

Sure, but I think there is a very good chance Gus told him to go so he didn't have to fire him. It is the smart move. Bert did that with his DC, Mullen did something similar with his DC. Just better for all parties involved imo.
