Jalen regressed this year

Jalen was a freshman. The DC's he went up against were shooting at a target they did not yet understand. As the year moved on the good DC's we faced the last several games (starting with LSU) had film and began to copy the success moments other had experienced. Just like a new pitcher in MLB, the first time thur the batting order they are all world, Deeper in the season you have a map of their tools and their weaknesses. Clemson used the map. Slant the D-line shutting down cutback lanes -Bo was the answer with power to break thru the slants - Bo went out. Crowd the line at the edges - shuts down the Harris bounce. Bring the DB's up to crowd the short passing lanes - Clemson had the talent to do this and Jalen does not yet have the seasoning to calmly go to the 3rd WR dragging behind the tight coverage. Our WR's did not adjust route well largely because - what's the use - Jalen does not adjust well after his first (and maybe second) option is shut down. So Jalen tucks to run but the edge was crowded. The one time he broke it for a TD he went up the middle rather than running to the crowded edge.

All of this can be fixed with a little more seasoning at QB.Off-season film-room time with Sark and then application in the spring and summer.
