I don't think there is a reason to assume he won't improve. Countless examples of QBs improving particularly when they are only 18. Most of the time you don't get to see the rawness that most true freshmen QBs have because they don't have to play. Jalen did so we saw it front and center.

Why can't he improve though? Why wouldn't he get better at reading defense with age and experience? Reading defenses is a big part of accuracy. Late throws and throws with lack of confidence that you are seeing things correctly is a huge part of accuracy problems. Sure he also has some mechanical issues to correct and often those get so locked in they are hard to change without negatively impacting the QB's natural game. He may not ever become a a guy who can stand in the pocket and throw darts all over the field, but I think it is more likely than not that he will improve substantially as a passer.
